The time for swapping players, signing contracts and re arranging squads has arrived once again in the MLB. Every team is micro scoping the players list in an attempt to better their squads. The exchanging has reached its peak in the past few days. Same is the case with Boston Red Sox. The team management has recently been thinking on sending 2007′s MVP Mike Lowell to the Rangers. Lowell’s mobility has been concerning the team’s higher authorities. Mike Lowell has been restrained to slow pace by the surgery that he underwent in 2008′s October that included the removal of a bone spur and operation of a torn labrum.

The 35 year old Lowell’s value rose to $12 million in 2010, with the final season of $37.5 million during a three year pact. The Rangers’ GM Bob Daniels said that they were still giving the exchange a second thought and would depend on physicals. Also Boston would have to pay Texas a portion of Mike’s salary.

The Texas authorities have had their hands full this at the winter season meetings. They just got done with a full swap when they sent Pitcher Kevin Millwood and $3 million for reliever Chris Ray and also picked up the lefty Ben Snyder from the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday. The third base spot would be empty for the Red Sox if Lowell went to the Rangers.

Lowell has been an all star 4 times from 2002-2007, smacking 21 homers with .324 and 120 RBI’s in the year of 2007. Due to his operations he dropped to 17 homers, 75 RBI’s this year.
