Anchorage Daily News has reported the news of the crash of an Air Force plane. The crash took place at around quarter past 6 in the morning of 28th July ’10.
The air plane was c 17, a cargo carrying plane–there were four crew members inside c 17. All the pilots of Alaskan air base have been preparing their stunts for a show called Arctic Air Thunder which is to be held this weekend. The plane was near the air base about 6 miles away and coming from east that at once it crashed into the ground. The noise was loud that all the residents nearby thought it was a bomb that has fallen in the vicinity. Anchorage Daily News reporters also live in the air force colony and they took pictures of the smoke that was emitting from the crashed plane.
Families of Air Force officers told the Anchorage Daily News that they saw a cloud ball near the run way and thought some training was going on and cloud is a part of it but when they discovered it was a plane crash, they rushed to the site to rescue the crew members but there was no sign of life there. Atkins who is the commander of Air Base of Alaska has told that there is no possibility that the pilot and other members could be alive as the c 17 plane has no emergency exit. It has not been declared yet as to which branch the four crew members belonged to.
