Bosavi Woolly Rat

A giant woolly rat has been found on the Mount Bosavi by a film crew of BBC who named it Bosavi woolly rat. They were actually recording a program in Papua New Guinea on the subject of an extinct volcano and discovered new species that still are unknown to modern science. A frog with fangs, a giant woolly rat and more than 40 other strange creatures are included in the discovery list new species.

Dr. George McGavin with his biologist’s team was about to land on Mount Bosavi and then they stunned to see an absolute new kind of frog within a minute getting down from their helicopter on the Mount Bosavi. BBC’s Natural History unit’s head scientist Dr McGavin said that the moment was really mind blowing.

An amphibian specialist and member of the team Allen Allison said that I think that is one there over by your foot and I almost walked on it. The woolly rat that was found on the Mount Bosavi was nearly more than 1.5 kilogram (3lb) in weights and 82 cm (3 feet) in length and the film crew of BBC Natural History unit captured it in an infrared camera on film.

This rat has been given the name of Bosavi woolly rat temporarily. It is also a thought that this kind of woolly rat is found only in the crater and could not be found anywhere in the world. Bosavi woolly rat has no fear of humans.
