Bunny Lake is Missing

Bunny Lake Is Missing was produced and directed by Otto Preminger and has a psychological theme. The film is based on Merriam Modell’s novel with the same name. The starring was performed by Carol Lynley, Laurence Oliver, Keir Dullea, The Zombies, Noel Coward and Martita Hunt. The film was edited by Peter Thornton, whereas the music was given by Paul Glass. The film was first released in 1965 in London in English language with a running time of 107 minutes.

When it released in 1965, it was dismissed by the critics as well as Preminger pointing out as an insignificant. However the critics gave it strong reviews later on and finally the movie was released in 2005 on DVD.

The movie (Bunny Lake Is Missing) was based on the original novel. The novel was originally had its story set in New York which was reset by Preminger to London. London helped him to opt various real dark locations according to his vision as sinister and dark. He opted for a house of Daphne du Maurier, a novelist, and “doll hospital” for the purpose.

Carol Lynley (Ann Lake) an American mother came to England for settlement purpose latterly with Felicia, her daughter, 4 years old, with a nickname Bunny and her brother Keir Dullea (Steven), a journalist. Bunny disappears from the school at her first day at school. Laurence Olivier, the Police Superintendent suspected various people being involved in her disappearance. Later on the movie keeps revolving upon the interesting and suspicious aspects of disappearance and mysterious things associated with it.
