Correspondents Dinner 2010

Obama was the best performer at White house correspondents dinner 2010. He was in alight mood and cracked jokes about Jo Biden, Hillary Clinton and even himself. In the passing he admitted that his rating had gone down. He mentioned the rumors about his place of birth. Perhaps some people want to portray him as a Kenyan rather than an American. He felt relieved for getting an earlier time to speak than Leno because no one could get laughing applauses after Leno. He expressed his concern over the environmental disaster caused by the explosion of oil rig in Louisiana. He also mentioned some news sources and there credibility. Obama has emerged as more powerful president after the legislation of health bill and wants to be seen as a unifier.

The correspondents dinner 2010 was attended by nearly 3000 guests that included politicians, journalists and Hollywood stars. Some of the stars were anxious to see the president. The guests had to show their tickets or cards for the dinner and had to wait for the jammed escalator.

The correspondents dinner 2010 was the 96th event for giving scholarships to the aspiring journalists. Eighteen journalists received the scholarships this year.

Obama has attended the 2nd correspondents dinner as a President and as per tradition talked in a witty light mood. Surprisingly enough no jokes were sounded about his policies. I wonder why Leno had not worked on the Presidential policies. Perhaps he wanted to stay on the safe side and feared that such jokes will be received by cold silence.
