Electra Glide in Blue

Electra Glide in Blue, a 1973 film, was directed and produced by James William. The story of the films was written by Rupert Hitzig and Robert Boris whereas the screenplay was given by Robert Boris. The film was released on August 19, 1973 in United States with a running time of 114 minutes in English language. It was filmed in the Monument Valley. The starring of the film includes Robert Blake, as the motorcycle cop in the Arizona, Billy Green Bush, as Blake’s partner, Mitchell Ryan, Jeannine Riley and Elisha Cook, Jr. The film was also entered into ’1973 Cannes Film Festival’, but it was reviled by the critics. However, the film earned a critical acclamation for its nationwide release. Overall, the commercial success of the film remained limited. The numerous Chicago members appear in the minor roles, like Terry Kath, Peter Cetera, Walter Parazaider and Lee Loughnane. Chicago has also been appeared on the soundtrack of movie.

Robert Black has played a motorcycle cop, John Wintergreen, who regularly patrols rural Arizona highway with Zipper (Billy Green Bush) who is her partner. Blake is the rookie cop who hates being in the traffic enforcements and thus his will is to transfer to the homicide investigation. Blake is laid back but also upright about law enforcement, however Zipper is lazy and is rigid about the busting hippies and prefers to read the comic books in shade.

The film has also appeared on the Turner Classical Movies being the part of TCM Underground program which was hosted by ‘Rob Zombie’ who greets the films as masterpiece. The film was included in the cult classics series by UK’s Film 4 channel.
