Emo Phillips, an American comedian and entertainer, was born on February 7, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois. In his comedy he uses paraprosdokians and the garden path sentences which he speaks in a “falsetto” tone and a childlike and confused deliver of the material producing an intended “comic timing” invoking the children’s wisdom. So far Emo Philips has released 3 comedy albums. He won the New Music Award in 1985 for his album E=mo² for the best comedy album. In 2001, he released his album “Emo”. In 2006, Emo Philips appeared at “Newbury Comedy Festival”. He has been included in top “50″ of the “E 4s 100” Greatest Comedians. In channel “4s top 100

Emo Philips has also been played as an actor on some television series like The Weird Al Show and the Miami Vice. Recently Emo has appeared as a guest on “panel game, 8 out of 10 cats” on a British television.

Apart from this, Emo has also appeared in some feature films like UHF (1989) as a shop teacher at school and Desperation Boulevard (1998).

Emo married Judy Tenuta, a comedian too, in 1088. She was also an entertainer having an off-beat comic’s persona. They were divorced later on. Emo remarried Cami, his ex-wife in 2000.

Emo is also maintaining his website with URL as emophilips.com. Emo’s upcoming performances are planned in various United States and Non United States cities and a complete detail has been given on its world wide web.
