The undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. is being lured to step out of retirement and hit the ring again by his former promoter & manager Bob Arum. Arum is instigating the welter weight champion to put on his gloves against Arum’s current commercial interest – Manny Pacquaio.

Following his triumph at Saturday night’s bout against Miguel Cotto, Manny Pacquaio was seen sporting a sly smile standing next to his trainer, Freddie Roach, and manager Bob Arum. What most boxing analysts and critiques have stated as the obvious is a show down between Mayweather and Pacquaio.

As if trying to capitalize on the heat of the moment, Arum was found telling journalists that Pacquaio was ready to face anyone – Mayweather. And that if Mayweather was up for the fight, he better get down to business rather than getting engaged in creating media hype for self promotion.

Should Floyd Mayweather decline to accept the challenge – which seems unlikely considering the former welterweight champions’ past record – Arum will be trailing a Pacquaio vs. Juan Manuel Marquez III brawl for sometime during the 1st half of next year.

In his 40-0 undefeated career, Floyd Mayweather has previously stepped out of retirement when he went up against Ricky Hatton. The fight between two invincible boxing professionals was the biggest highlight in boxing circuits since ‘99.

According to Floyd Mayweather Sr., Floyd Mayweather’s father and former coach, his son should step in the ring with Manny Pacquaio only if money is his motivation. Apart from that, the fight is definitely not worth it since the senior Mayweather strongly suspects Pacquaio being hooked on performance enhancing steroids.
