RJ Fred Honsberger was surely aware of how to secure his points, sometimes by arguing and at others time a bit violently, but all this he would do without hurting them. Fred, 58 who had rejoiced thirty years at KDKA in 2009 passed away yesterday morning at his residence in Monroeville. The network’s faculty never talked about his health and no proper answers have been gotten from his residence either. The radio personality was to come back to the airwaves after enjoying his vacation but he never got the time to carry that plan out.
In the July of 2004, Fred Honsberger went public about his everlasting fight against weight control when he unveiled the fact about him, undergoing a gastric bypass surgery. The operation chopped off 140 pounds from his body and assisted him in controlling BP and diabetes.
More famously known as the “Honz Man”, he was stated as a man who spoke his moderate ideas that touched fans. Administrators spoke the day before about his capability of influencing the area’s political dissertation.
Salvation Army’s spokesman, Ginny Knor said that he met Fred in an event in 1993 that was held for giving moral boost to the organization. Knor said that he could never imagine a more compassionate and caring man then Fred Honsberger despite his radio image.
Honz Man signed up with the network in 1979 as a caster. Before residing in Pitts. He was hired for anchoring purposes in Philadelphia. The anchor person had clenched numerous awards for his work during his tenure at WKBO station and WRSC/WQWK network.
After his funeral ceremony, Ken Seisek stated that he was an important part of the field and his absence is surely going to be prominent. The City Mayor, Luke Ravenstahl said that his death had generated a slot which was going to be very hard to fill. The 58 year old RJ has left behind wife Chris and two children, Kevin and Kyle.
