GSLV is the short form of The Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle. GSLV is activated by Indian Research Organization and is a dispensable instigate system. GSLV was designed to give opportunity to India to activate the INSAT kind satellites in the geostationary track. It also aimed to make India independent in the field and avoid dependency on the distant rockets. The GSLV mission was initially started in the year 1990 and the aim behind this plan was to acquire launching capacity for the satellites. Prior to this project India used to depend on the ex Soviet Union regarding the launching of grave satellites. It goes to use the main equipment which is proved to be very successful launchers.

The very first expansion trip, which was launched on 18th April, 2001 was very successful. GSLV improvised the presentation of PSLV. It made some alterations and some additions to boost up the efficiency the vehicle.

It is termed as the three step vehicle of launching. The first step is said to be solid push and the second step liquid push and the third and final step is called as cryogenically push. The first as well as second steps are taken from PSLV. In the start the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle launches went to use upper step of cryogenic provided by Russia. India endeavored to purchase this technology from Russia, but United States built up pressure on Russia and India could not purchase this technology form Russia. The Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle has the capacity of placing about 5000 kg into the low earth orbit of the east. When it uses the technology of Russian rocket engine it may have the capacity to place 2200 kg in other orbits also.
