Hedi Annabi

Hedi Annabi was born in 1944. He got his early education from his hometown and got his degree in Political Science from “Institute of Detudes Poltiques de Paris”. Hedi Annabi was also a degree holder in English language and got master degree in “international relationship” from the “Institute of International Studies”.

Hedi Annabi was a Tunisian Ambassador. He was elected as an advisor of diplomatic affairs and considered as a special member of Tunisia Foreign services. In 1979 Hedi Annabi also got appointed as a General Manager of “National News Agency”.

Hedi Annabi was a famous diplomat of “United Nations Secretary General”. Hedi Annabi joined “United Nations” in 1981 and he was honored by “United Nations Department of Peacekeeping operations” and was appointed as Assistant Secretary General from 1997 to 2007.

Hedi Annabi also worked as “Principal Officer” in Southeast Asia as a “Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs”. From 1982 to 1991 political stability in Cambodia was critical and he was appointed to stabilize the situation. He performed his duty very honestly and he was highly appreciated by the political parties of Cambodia and United Nations as well.

He joined Peacekeeping department operations in 1992 and from 1993 to 1996 Hedi Annabi was promoted and appointed as “Director of African Division”. Furthermore, he was selected in 1996 as in-charge of the “Department of Peacekeeping operations”. In 28th January, 1997 he became “Assistant Secretary General for Peacekeeping Operations”. In September, 2007 he was appointed as head of the “United Nations Hati Stabilization Mission”.

French ambassador reported to French Minister that Hedi Annabi was killed when the United Nations headquarter collapse. His confirmed death date is 12th January, 2010.
