Making Strides against Breast Cancer 2009

It is considered that a country with lower breast is a country with more or many birthdays. Similarly the statement applies to worldwide situation, where there are more birthdays in the world with lesser breast cancer cases. There are various societies and organizations worldwide which are actively involved in the awareness of breast cancer, its treatment options as well as collection of funds to support the breast cancer patients as well as research support for breast cancer. Making Strides against Breast Cancer walks 2009 events are being organized through United States of America by American Society of Cancer to honor the survivors of breast cancer, awareness raising about breast cancer as well as fight against breast cancer to save lives. With more participation from various groups and individuals, there are likely more ways to fight this disease and to reduce the risks associated with this disease.

Making strides walks are being organized nationwide in the month of October. On average there are always over 150 walks of the type to recognize the people who are survivors of breast cancer, to give proper awareness and education to people about different ways to lessen the risk of breast cancer and inspire communities to join the cause. These types of walks are about three to five miles long in distance. In the year 2008, over 600,000 individuals participated nationwide, raised over USD: 60 million funds to support various causes of breast cancer through these events. Walkers in New Jersey and New York collected over USD 18 million through 28 making Stride against Breast Cancer events.

Making Stride against Breast Cancer event 2009 will begin at 8 a.m. with registration, shine or rain. The guidance is available widely from American Cancer Society.
