Mandisa Weight Loss

Mandisa L. Hundley, an American singer, was born on 2nd October, 1976. She is mostly known as Mandisa. Mandisa was nominated for Dove and Grammy Award and in American Idol, she was finalist at 9th place in 2006 (fifth season). After recognition on American Idol, Madisa started serious effort for her weight loss. Now she has reported a weight loss by 80 pounds and she has hoped to lose a total weight of 100 pounds or even more. Mandisa attended American River College after graduating and studied Vocal Jazz. Afterwards she got a bachelor degree in music and a special focus on vocal performance from Fisk University, Tennessee.

She mostly called herself as Mandisa without mentioning her last name. Mandisa auditioned for American Idol, and United States talent/reality show in Chicago. In her audition, Simon Cowell, the Idol judge made repeated comments about her weight and joked that this year we will be having a bigger stage for American Idol. These comments may have driven Mandisa for a strong commitment of weight loss as well as entitling her album of 2007 as True Beauty. Mandisa said on 7th March 2006 in her pre performance video that she used to suck her thumb by 24 years of age. She also declared that Cowell’s comments have hurt her a lot but she has forgiven all the comment. Mandisa performed ‘I’m Every Woman’ of Chaka Khan’s which was highly praised by all the three judges. In fifth season of Idol’s on March 9, 2006, she was chosen a finalist along with other 11 contestants.
