Martin Sheen

Martin Sheen is the stage name of Ramon Estevez who was born on 3rd August 1940 in Dayton, Ohio. He is a well known actor of his time. He played several roles in many films and television series but his role of Captain Willard which was played in “Apocalypse Now” and his roles played in “The West Wing” as “President Josiah Bartlet”, has become the main identity of this great actor among his fans.

He has also worked with some of the most famous directors of the Hollywood film industry in which Steven Spielberg, Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, Oliver Stone, Terrence Malick, Richard Attenborough, and Mike Nichols are also included. He got popularity as a protester along with the praise he established for his acting.

He spent his childhood and young age in Ohio with Spanish and Irish parents. He also holds an Irish citizenship. The name of his children are Emilio Estevez, Charlie Sheen (Carlos Irwin Estevez), Renee Estevez and Ramon Estevez. Joe Estevez is his brother who is also an actor. The names of his parent were Francisco Estevez and Mary Ann who was an Irish immigrant to America.

His father was a machinery inspector and an immigrant from Spain. He started his acting career at his young age but he could not get approval from his father to enter into this field. He did not notice to the disapproval of his father and moved to New York by borrowing some money from a priest. Martin Sheen received “Doctor of Letters” degree from the Marquette University in 2003.
