Melinda Dillon

Melinda Dillon is a veteran of numerous TV, movie and stage productions. Over more than four decades she has been active, Melinda Dillon has enjoyed a very successful and flamboyant career in roles of almost all capacity and nature.

Born on the 13th of the October in the year 1939, Melinda Dillon would debut her full-time acting career after her 23rd birthday. The year was 1962 and the slender Melinda Dillon was offered the role of ‘Honey’ in Edward Albee’s original Broadway making titled “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf”. It would be this performance of hers that would poise her as a nominee spot on the prospects for the ‘Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Play”. Her other prominent theatrical performances include “Paul Sill’s Story Theater” and “You Know I Can’t Hear You When the Water’s Running”.

After doing stage roles for a decent number of years, Melinda Dillon got her first break in the movie industry in ’69. Her character, Memphis Sue, got cast opposite the legendary David Carradine in their joint 1976 flick “Bound for Glory”.

The array of awards and nominations has been very frequent during Melinda Dillon’s career as the seasoned performer doesn’t fail in depicting a new side of her with every passing role.

Almost similar to Robert Machio in her approach towards personal life, Melinda Dillon has been keen to keep the profession aside from her family. What we do know is that both she and her late husband – Richard Libertini – bred an off-spring together.
