Almost all the countries of the world, one way or the other, celebrate their national days. By celebrating these days, they want to pay homage to those personalities of their countries, who have accomplished some heroic task. Likewise, they also solemnize national days in order to inculcate the importance of those animals or birds etc. whose generations are feared to be vanished in future. In this way, they create a sense of carefulness among the people to save the lives of these animals, birds etc. Besides, some countries celebrate national days to create health awareness among their countrymen.

Apart from celebrating days on the national level, some days are celebrated on international level for some healthy and constructive purposes. This collective effort is inducted by the international community for living things like human beings, animals, birds etc. as well as for non-living things like old buildings etc. In this connection, the important role played by the United Nations can not be ignored. For instance, this august organization declares some specific day or month or year for celebration with a special cause, either for helping mal-nourished children, or for saving some architectural building etc.
