Ohno Speed Skater

Ohno speed skater has won a silver medal in 1500 meters men’s final in winter Olympics. The event was a memorable one for the US sport lovers because two places on the podium were occupied by American athletes. The silver and bronze won by Ohno speed skater and J. R. Celski respectively were the first medals for United States in winter Olympics 2010. Moreover Ohno speed skater has leveled the record of Bonnie Blair by earning 6 medals in the winter Olympics.

Apolo Anton Ohno was raised by his father from his infancy. He has no soft corner for her real mother. His father Yuki Ohno a hair stylist had testing times during his upbringing. He sent Ohno to swimming and skating classes at an early age to keep him busy in healthy sports while he was busy with his job. Ohno became the Washington state champion in breaststroke swimming as early as at the age of 12 but his passion took him to speed skating.

He rose to prominence in 1997 by winning gold in US senior championships. He won gold for 1500 meter and a silver medal for 1000 meter in 2002 winter Olympics at salt lake. In 2006 he failed to retain his title in 1500 meter but secured a gold medal in 500 meter and a bronze in 1000meter and 5000 meter relay. He is holding the United States champion title sine 2001. Ohno is 27 and is looking forward to grab more gold in the coming years.
