Paul Haggis Scientology

The Hollywood film director, Paul Haggis, has recently resigned from “Church of Scientology” after an association of about 35 years with the church as a member. Paul has stated that he has resigned in a protest of opposing the organization to gay marriage. Paul has said that he is unable to remain the part of that organization which tolerates the gay bashing. The resignation letter of Paul leaked to press, where he has clearly opposed the organization’s support to the “Proposition 8” according to which same sex marriage has been banned in California. Paul Haggis’s letter was addressed to Tommy Davis, the official spokesperson of church, where he has accused the organization of its failing to act on the promises of the organization to kept it apart from any homophobic statement which has made the San Diego branch last year during the debates on “Proposition 8”. Paul said that he wrote to Tommy Davis several times to condemn the actions but there was not action according to his requests.

Paul E. Haggis (born on March 10, 1953) is a Canadian American film director, producer and screenwriter. Paul’s early career includes the production and direction of numerous Canadian and American television series. Paul Haggis’s film “Crash” has won 2 Oscars in 2005. In 2009, Paul Haggis also nominated for Oscar for “Million Dollar Baby” and in this way he became the first person as Oscar winner for two consecutive-years.

Paul Haggis has written and directed a number of films like Red Hot, Crash, In the Valley of Elah, The Next Three Days, in addition to various others movies where his role was as writer.
