Paul McCartney White House

Paul McCartney received the prestigious Gershwin Prize at white house last month in a star studded ceremony. The event was graced by 1st family and some prominent singers. White house has released the video of the Paul McCartney White House performance that was aired on PBS. The ceremony began with the introduction of McCartney.

McCartney has performed all over the world. He has the honor of performing at Buckingham palace and the Kremlin. It was his 1st time at White house and he was humbled by the experience. He sat next to the President in the front row while listening to the musical tribute paid to him by prominent singers like Faith Hill and Joan brothers.

He was pleasantly surprised to see that his songs are known to the 1st family.

He sang ‘Michelle’ for the 1st lady and the camera caught her mom and daughters singing. The viewers who may have missed the Paul McCartney White House performance can watch it on line. The republicans have criticized the activities of President Obama as drifting away from common American people. They have mentioned his recent family vacation in Maine, his dinning out at expensive restaurants with 1st lady as elitist lifestyle. Paul McCartney White House performance was also cited as an elitist activity. Obama’s administration has invited several music artists to the white house in a contrast to Bush administration.
