Regina Spektor

Regina Spektor was born on 18 February 1980 in Moscow. She is an American pianist, songwriter and singer also. Music of Regina Spektor is connected to the anti-folk scene that is centered on the East village of N. Y. Her father named Ilya Spektor is a great proletarian violin player and photographer. Her mother named Bella Spektor was a music teacher in the college. At present, her mother teaches at a civic elementary school in N. Y. She learned piano playing by doing practice on a Petrof standing, which was gifted by grandfather to her mother.

Regina Spektor was also interested rock bands like Queen and The Beatles. In the year 1989, family of Regina Spektor left the Soviet. At that time, they left because citizens of Soviet were allowed to leave their country. Because of the emigration, she left piano learning. Her seriousness in piano learning led parents for not leaving the Soviet. However, they at last took a decision of leaving the country, because of the ethnic as well as political discrimination that Jews already faced.

Regina Spektor is very fluent in Russian. She also reads Hebrew very well and pays tribute to Russian inheritance by the well-known Russian writer Boris in song. She also states in her song that she is very connected with the language as well as culture. Her family first traveled to Austria and then to Italy. Finally, her family settled in Bronx. She completed her high school education in Frisch School in New Jersey, however transferred to civic school where she completed her final years in high school. She learned piano playing in N. Y with a professor named Sonia Vargas.
