Shane Mosley

As if the media and reporters weren’t having enough of a field with the Manny Pacquaio and Mayweather Jr. frenzy, we now have Shane Mosley and Andre Berto cashing in on the hype and trying to direct it their way.

The 38 year old Shane Mosley has not been seen in action since his bout with Antonio Margarito last year in January. Even at that point in time, the brawly Mosley appeared to be slightly out of touch and not at his optimal best. Yet he was able to come out victorious against Margarito’s plaster clad gloves that were enough to knock the living daylights out of anyone.

In what could prove to be a wonderful New Year treat for boxing lovers worldwide, Shane Mosley and Andre Berto are all set to go head to head two months down the road in January ‘10. The showdown will be held in Mandalay Bay. The event being promoted by Golden Boy Promotions could stir tremendous unrest in the welterweight domain if viewers witness Berto winning over Mosley. Both Berto and his coach Lou Dibella are confident that will be the case.

After futile attempts to make either Mayweather Jr. or Manny Pacquaio to get in the ring with him, Shane Mosley has now set his target on Berto. According to Mosley, he has no plans of going into retirement for the next four years and is simple dying to display his expertise in the ring.

Surely Mosley’s career record of 46-5 will experience changes after the fight with Berto. What remains to be seen is whether it’ll be his wins or losses that experience the change.
