Suozzi

Thomas Suozzi, County Executive, is in close race with Edward Mangano, the Republican challenger. On Tuesday the voter went to poll bubbling with an extreme anger over the economy and taxes. With all the area reporting, the Democrat, Suozzi, lead the Republican, Mangano from “Bethpage” with 237 votes. This is according to the “Nassau Board of Elections on Tuesday lately. It is appeared that the Republicans have a thin majority in Nassau County Legislature. According to Steven R Schlesinger, the Democratic lawyer, the attorneys from both side got the court order on Tuesday to freeze the machines and the paper ballots in anticipation of close races. During the vote count the lead was traded by the two contestants.

Kathleen Rice, the “Nassau Democratic District’s Attorney” won over the challenger Tuesday night in a certain way, however Howard Weitzman, “Comptroller” was sprawling George Maragos, the Republican, in the low turnout election in which the serving from both of the parties were punished by voters.

While talking to the supporter on Tuesday night, Suozzi said that for an incumbent, it is really a tough time because all the people are in a very unpleasant mood.

Thomas Suozzi, is the “county executive” of the New York’s Nassau County. In 2001, Suozzi was first elected as a county executive, thus becoming the first “Democratic” county executive since 1971, after Eugene Nickerson left his office. Currently he is serving for a second term. Suozzi ran against Eliot Spitzer unsuccessfully in 2006 for Governor of New York, for the Democratic nomination.
