Suzanne Pleshette

Suzanne Pleshette was an American television, screen and stage actress. Suzanne was born in New York City, New York on January 31, 1937 and died in Los Angeles, California on January 19, 2008 at the age of 70. Her professional career was from 1957 till 2004.

Suzanne started her career from theater and from early 1960s, she started appearing in films. In 1960s her films include “Rome Adventure” in 1962 and “The Birds” in 1963. Later on she also appeared in some television series mostly in the guest roles included Route 66, The Invaders, The Fugitive, The Name of the Game and The F.B.I. The early television appearance of Suzanne includes Have Gun Will Travel, Playhouse 90, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Ben Casey, Channing, Naked City, Dr. Kildare and Wagon Train.

Suzanne played in The Bob Newhart Show as Emily Hartley from the year 1972 till 1978. She was nominated twice for Emmy Award for her work in the show.

Suzanne is Maggie Briggs; her situation comedy in 1984 was cancelled after its 7 episodes. Suzanne played in NBC drama, “Nightingales” as Christine Broderick in 1989 that was lasted for one season. Suzanne played in “Leona Helmsley:The Queen of Mean” a television movie in 1990 where she portrayed the “Manhattan Hotelier Leona Helmsley. Suzanne’s work in this television series lead her to be nominated for Golden Globe and Emmy Awards. In 1994, she also starred in “The Boys are Back”.

Suzanne continued her professional life until 2004. She died of lungs cancer in 2008.
