Terry Barnich

Terry Barnich was a former Chairman of Commerce Commission and was posted in Iraq these days that has been killed in bomb attack in Western area of Iraq. He was travelling with U.S army convoy towards the Department of State. In this bomb blast a U.S. soldier was also killed with a worker of the Defense Department who was working with U.S. army. Two people have been injured and are in intensive care.

Terry Barnich was working as a Deputy Director in Baghdad (Iraq) for the Transition Assistant Office and was 56 years old. He was killed when he was returning back after checking a wastewater treatment project which is funded by U.S. Government and is still under construction.

This project is a very comprehensive and largest of its kind which is never been taken in Iraq and Mr. Terry Barnich was working in this project with local Government authorities. Terry Barnich has also served as the chairman of ICC from 1989 to 1992 and had also worked with the Republican election candidate Mr. Judy Baar as a manager of campaign.

He was working as a CEO of a Chicago based company named New Paradigm Resources Group when he decided to join as a Deputy Director in Iraq, he left that job. He wrote a column in Chicago Sun Times about his experience in Iraq. Last year in an interview he described the difficulties he faced to distribute the electricity in Iraq.

Barnich has a very good sense of humor and was proud on his country and was found of politics even when from his childhood. His family has been informed about his death on Monday.
