Tom Suozzi

Tom Suozzi a well known country executive of New York and is counted among influential personalities of USA. He was born on 31st August 1962 in New York. He was the son of Joseph Suozzi who was the mayor of Gen Clove, New York. He was youngest among all of his five siblings. He graduated from Roman Catholic School, then moved to Boston College and later attended Fordham University, School of Law. He is bound in marital status and has 3 children from her wife Helene.

His political career started in 1992 when he was elected for Mayor Post in Glen Cove. He served his people for four years. Then he struggled for country executive post and got success by defeating assembly man Thomas Dinappoli. He was honored as first democrat at that time. In 2005 he was reelected with 59% votes by defeating his competitor Greg Preston.

His interest in political field links up with his family roots. His father was a mayor of Glen Cove and his uncle also run the post of mayor ship. More over his father served country executive post in Nassau city. When he was first elected as country executive, his country was suffered with high degree of bankruptcy. With his high degree of efficiency and excellence in work he returned 428 million dollars into budget with in one year of his working. He not only worked for the progress of country but also destroyed wasteful contracts, reduced the workforce and replaced all labor with skilled workers.

He also ran a democratic party in which he supported many civil unions in 2006 and encouraged same sex couples but he did not supported same sex marriages. In 2008 he changed his remarks on that and accepted that he was wrong and by listening to many same sex couples and their feelings and aptitude for their partner; now he will support such marriages and he will try his best to find out a proper legal solution for this problem.

He also kept a head in creating healthy societies and worked on several environmental issues and got successful improvements. He created “Healthy Nassau”. It was an inclusive program that brings awareness by continuing the concept of healthy environment and healthy living. It not only brings awareness but also motivate people to adapt such factors that keep their environment clean and healthy. He not only worked for healthy environment policy but also tried to eliminate misuse of natural resources by preserving hundreds of acres of land, showed improvements in parks, play-lands, planted organic farms, opened farmer markets, improved coastal water ways and much more. He won many environmental leadership awards on his successful policies.
