Toyota Prius Problem

Toyota Motors is facing a gloomy business front and Toyota Prius problem has surfaced to add to the gloominess. The motor company has not yet announced an official recall for Toyota Prius. It is apprehended that a total of 170,000 cars will be on recall. Toyota Prius problem has not been registered with the Japanese Govt. but is expected with in a day.

Toyota Prius problem may lead to a recall in USA with 100,000 cars to be recalled. Another 30,000 Prius cars were sold in rest of the world.

An official recall in Japan is most probably to be announced on Wednesday according to some dealers and the customers might get their cars repaired on Thursday which is a holiday in Japan. The Toyota customers are weary of the frequent recalls and the growing problems will leave an adverse affect on the reliability of the brand.

Last week the United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported that a total of 124 complaints have been registered with it including four car crashes. The Prius brake system is reported to be malfunctioning over bumpy or slippery roads. The NHTS has started investigations about Toyota Prius problem after the news of brake problem in Japan. However, no such complaints have been in registered in United Kingdom where more than six thousand Prius are driven.

The recent recalls will account for a colossal loss to Toyota Motors. The approximate estimates of the losses are around 2 billion dollars. The financial losses may be covered over time but the loss of credibility is hard to be recovered.
