Toyota Recall September 2009

To fix the ‘Toyota’ floor mats, a recall list of Toyota has been recently issued. The Toyota recall of September 2009 includes ’3.8 millions’ vehicles and covers the Lexus brand. The problem with these cars is that floor mats of the cars can be entangled with accelerator pedal, according to the press website of the Toyota Company. According to some news of San Diego, this problem became the cause of a crash of Lexus which was driving by a family. In this case the floor mat had a problem with the gas pedal which sends the pedal to about 120 miles/hour and ultimately the vehicle was crashed into SUV. In the incident the mats have been declared to cause the accident, afterwards the ‘Toyota recall’ could have been amongst the biggest in overall automobile industry.

The Toyota has issued a press release regarding the ‘floor mats’ recall where it has stated that the currents events have led the Toyota to have a very close look at a possible threat for accelerator’s pedal being stuck in

an entire open position which may be due to the incompatible or unsecured floor mats. The company has described and studies all the potential dangers of the situation and stated it a critical situation and recall. The list of the affected vehicles has also been given.

Although this move may incur a huge cost for Toyota, but is considered to be a wise move on part of Toyota. A serious concern of the company for the safely of its customer may enhance the company’s goodwill to a great extent. The Toyota has planned an entire support plan for its customers.
