Van Wilder Freshman Year

After much applaud and receiving positive remarks for its predecessors, here comes the third production in the Van Wilder series – Van Wilder Freshman Year. For those of us who might be expecting to see what happened to Taj after his appearance in the second part (National Lampoon’s Van Wilder: The Rise of Taj), do not get too excited just yet. This is not a sequel, rather a prequel to the first release in the series; National Lampoon’s Van Wilder.

The scheme revolves around the junior Wilder, Van Wilder. Following his high school graduation, Van is destined to go visit Amsterdam with his father. But unfortunately, with too many things on his plate, the senior Wilder is not up for it. Consequently, Van goes to Coolidge in accordance with family customs. However, things are meant to go smoothly as Coolidge’s admin is run by an ex army officer who spites Van’s father.

Since he can’t expel Van (since the senior Wilder is highly influential), the warden decided to do everything to turn Van’s freshman experience into an ill fated one. Things get nasty when Van “corrupts” church going girls on campus and has the warden & his fleet on his case.

Van Wilder’s character is played by Jonathan Bennett and is supported by Ryan Stratis, Steve Talley, Kristin Cavallari, Rick Calk, Jerry Shea, Kurt Feller, Meredith Giangrande and Linden Ashby. Produced by Robert Levy, Van Wilder Freshman Year has been directed by Harvey Glazer. The plot and story is set in the year 1995.
