There is not a role big enough that Viggo Mortensen won’t be able fit in to and execute marvelously. The veteran actor’s latest grand performance in “The Road” is all set for release next week on the 25th of November. Viggo Mortensen carries out the role of a father making it through the hardships of a ravaged land and living along with his 12 year old son.

With the story derived from Cormac McCarthy’s literary piece of art, The Road could not have been as delightful as it is anticipated to be without the contribution of Viggo Mortensen in the lead role. With supporting acts from Guy Pearce, Robert Duval and Charlize Theron, director John Hillcoat does an exceptional job of capturing the emotional sensitivity shared in a father – son relationship.

Although “The Road” is being compared to previous productions such as “Thunderdome” and “The Road Warrior”, it is still considered to have out beaten them in the depiction of human feelings such as hopelessness, tragedy and perseverance.

Viggo Mortensen launched his acting career in the mid 1980s and has been an active campaigner all along. He has received wide acclaim for his precision in understanding and relating to the character he portrays and has been nominated over and over again for various awards and honors.

In what is expected to be a great source of entertainment, Viggo Mortensen’s fans are in anticipation of “Reclaiming the Blade” in which the Danish American actor will portray himself. Viggo speaks 8 languages and has been seen performing with his son Henry on various occasions.
